How it works
Epithalon is proposed to stimulate telomerase, the enzyme that rebuilds the protective telomere caps on chromosomes, and to normalise melatonin secretion via the pineal gland. Both mechanisms are drawn from cell culture and animal studies.
What the research shows
The supporting literature — telomere elongation in cultured cells, lifespan extension in rodents, and long-term observational data in elderly Russian cohorts — comes overwhelmingly from the Khavinson group in St Petersburg. No independent, modern randomised trial has confirmed the anti-aging claims.
